“I’m ready, if there is such a thing”

A 20-Year Dementia Journey of Love and Letting Go

I’m sharing these stories of my mother, Jean McGill, on this website devoted to “Exploring the Experience of Unity,” because that’s what she and our family did during the 20 years she suffered from dementia that developed from mild to full-blown Alzheimer’s.

We learned a lot about unity during those years, especially my Mom as her dementia challenged, every day, her and our family’s idea of what it meant to be a whole family, and a whole human bring.

Enjoy Mom!

THE ZEN OF DEMENTIA

“As Mom has lost one after another physical and mental skill, she has become more and more the person who, to me, she always essentially was.”
